Biologists think puffer fish developed their ability to inflate themselves due to their slow swimming style, which makes them vulnerable to predators. They are named for their ability to inflate themselves to several times their normal size by swallowing water or air when threatened; the same adaptation is found in the closely related porcupine-fish, which have large conspicuous spines unlike the small, almost sandpaper-like spines of puffer fish.
Here in this video, you can see the amazing ability of a puffer fish on the palm of the man. Most of the people think that puffer fishes inflates using air. But this video, will beat the ideas of such people. The tennis ball sized puffer fish start vomiting water for long like the hose pipe. You must be astonished watching this footage.

During escape, puffer fish use their highly elastic stomachs to quickly ingest large amounts of water and air when necessary to turn themselves into a virtually inedible ball several times their normal size. A predator that manages to snag a puffer fish before it inflates won’t feel lucky for long. There is enough toxin in one puffer fish to kill 30 adult humans, and there is no known antidote. Sharks are the only species immune to the puffer fish’s toxin. They can eat puffer fish without any negative consequences.
